Changes in management team
Wallenius Wilhelmsen strengthens its executive team and takes strategic steps towards deepening its role as an integrated supply chain partner to its customers.
“We are increasingly becoming a partner to our customers on their entire finished product supply chain, enabling them to transform towards an emission free and digital future. To make sure we are able to both grow and transform in a sustainable, digital way, we are now strengthening the Group Executive Management with a new role, Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer. Mike Hynekamp, currently COO Logistics, will take on this role as of August of this year. At the same time, SVP Vehicle Services Americas (VSA), John Felitto, will become Chief Operating Officer Logistics Services,” says President and CEO Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Lasse Kristoffersen.
Kristoffersen has previously been very vocal on his ambition to make Wallenius Wilhelmsen a data driven company delivering integrated emission free solutions to its customers.
“We have access to digital technology and data that were unthinkable just a few years ago. Our industry has only started to harvest the value creation potential, and we are ready to put this into use, both for our customers and ourselves” says Kristoffersen.
Top management changes
Kristoffersen is further strengthening his top management team to deliver on the mission to transform the industry towards a more emission free and digital future.
Mike Hynekamp, who has been with the company in various roles for 17 years, is now taking the lead of a newly established strategy and development office as Chief Strategy and Development Officer (CSDO). The purpose of the role is to drive the necessary changes and developments needed to implement our strategy of being the premier integrated supply chain partner to our customers.
“I am very happy that Mike will take on this new role as he has vast experience from the company and the industry, has a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver on our strategy, and a track record for driving change, “says Kristoffersen.
“Our journey is not solely about operating ships or solving logistics challenges; it is about shaping a future where resilience, collaboration, and growth intertwine to build a digital and sustainable company for generations to come,” says Hynekamp.
John Felitto who today is Senior Vice President of WWL Vehicle Services Americas (VSA) will take over Hynekamp’s role as COO Logistic Services. Felitto started his career with Wallenius Wilhelmsen in July 2001 as Vice President-Sales and has held various key commercial and executive management roles in sales, ocean and logistics. Felitto was instrumental in the company’s transition from ocean carrier to full-service logistics provider, and he is currently responsible for all aspects of Vehicle Services Americas (VSA) processing and logistics operations in the USA, Mexico and Canada. Today, VSA employs 5000 people at 31 locations handling over 5.5 million vehicles annually.
John Felitto, Chief Operating Officer Logistics Services
“John has extensive experience, strong leadership acumen and the ability to connect with the organization and our customers. With his dedication to safety, quality and customer service, and his track record on growth and business development, I believe John will bring new, sustainable growth to both our customers and our company,“ says Kristoffersen.
